BOATING AND ALCOHOL DON'T MIX

July is typically when the weather is ideal for boating. Many people are out in the water and it's important that we stay safe. As Saturday, July 26 marks National Drowning Prevention Day, our reminder to customers is to boat safe - do not consume alcohol when boating.

In British Columbia, and especially the West Coast, we are fortunate to have many places to boat. With all of the dangers associated with water, it's even more crucial that we don't mix alcohol with water activities and boating. Statistics show that alcohol is involved in 38% of boating fatalities.

During July, customers will see collateral (e.g. posters) in our stores with the message "Don't forget you're driving" that serve as a reminder that boating and alcohol don't mix - do not consumer alcohol when boating.

BC Liquor Stores wishes you a safe and happy summer holiday season.
