Spring 2014

Spring is Here!

Spring has arrived at BC Liquor stores and with it comes the opportunity for new beginnings. This spring issue is all about expanding your horizons and learning new things.

Daenna Van Mulligen starts us off by springing forward into energetic and gregarious wines for the season. Then we learn about the versatility of vodka and see how it transfers nicely from glass to table in Cooking with Vodka. Rhys Pender challenges preconceived notions about certain wine styles and Judith Lane explains how the world of wine is shifting to cleaner, greener and more sustainable practices.

Then, to stave off the cold weather, we feature a collection of more than 50 new light, fun and fresh spring-inspired recipes. Keep it light with savoury meringues and healthier steam-cooking methods, or get seasonal with some delicious spring lamb and garden-fresh rhubarb dishes.

Ready to show off your home after a good spring cleaning? Carolyn Evans Hammond shows us how to freshen up spring entertaining by hosting a wine-tasting party. Complete with four wine-scoring cards, this article is sure to come in handy at your next event!

And don’t forget about Mom this year! In addition to the usual cards and floral bouquets, why not surprise her with an elegant champagne brunch this Mother’s Day?

That is just a sneak peak of what to expect in this exciting new issue of TASTE.

Celebrate the arrival of spring with BC Liquor Stores!
