What do the colours of the Progress Pride Flag mean?

  • Red represents life. Red is also known to be the colour of passion in many cultures. 

  • Orange represents healing. Orange is typically believed to be a fun and celebratory colour, and fun and celebration are both healing activities. 

  • Yellow represents sunlight and is also considered to stimulate new thoughts and ideas.  

  • Green represents nature, and the prosperity and growth that nature provides.  

  • Blue represents harmony and peace.  

  • Purple is considered a spiritual colour, and often represents calmness.  

  • Black and brown represents marginalized people of colour (POC) communities. They are also intended to acknowledge community members lost to and currently living with HIV/AIDS.  

  • Light pink, light blue and white represents trans individuals and speaks to the gender spectrum.
